About The Opportunity
Healthcare — Hospital & Clinical Services: a growing tertiary-care maternal and newborn health provider delivering comprehensive neonatal services across referral and high-dependency settings. We operate an on-site NICU that manages complex newborn conditions, acute resuscitation, and continuity of neonatal care from stabilization to discharge.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day clinical operations of the NICU, ensuring high standards of neonatal care, staffing coverage, and workflow efficiency.
- Provide direct clinical care for preterm and term neonates including stabilization, ventilatory support, hemodynamic management, and procedures (e.g., umbilical catheterization, exchange transfusion).
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions in delivery suite and NICU, and coordinate with obstetrics and pediatric teams for seamless perinatal care.
- Implement and enforce infection control, patient-safety protocols, and NICU-specific clinical pathways to reduce morbidity and length of stay.
- Mentor and supervise junior doctors, nursing staff, and trainees; conduct training sessions and case reviews to maintain clinical competency across the unit.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in audit and quality-improvement initiatives, and liaise with families for counselling and discharge planning.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with valid medical registration in India
- Proven hands-on experience managing NICU cases and running neonatal units
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or equivalent
- Competence in neonatal ventilatory support (invasive ventilation and CPAP) and critical-care procedures
- Strong clinical decision-making in neonatal emergencies and stabilization
- Willingness to work on-site with flexible shifts and participate in on-call rosters
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification or formal training in Pediatrics/Neonatology (MD/DNB/Diploma) or equivalent
- Experience as NICU in-charge or clinical lead with staff-management exposure
- Training/experience in neonatal point-of-care ultrasound and advanced neonatal procedures
